AlpiLinK<\/span><\/span><\/h1>

Alpine Languages in Contact<\/span><\/span><\/h3>

AlpiLinK (Alpine Languages in Contact) is a project for the documentation, investigation and promotion of the Germanic, Romance and Slavic dialects and minority languages spoken across the Alpine regions of Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

The Alpine language belong to three language families. Tyrolean dialects<\/strong><\/a> and the minority languages Cimbrian<\/strong><\/a>, M\u00f2cheno<\/a><\/strong>, Saurano<\/strong><\/a>, Sappadino<\/a><\/strong>, Timavese<\/strong><\/a>, Val Canale German<\/a><\/strong> and Walser German<\/strong><\/a> are Germanic languages. The varieties of Ladin<\/strong><\/a>, Friulian<\/a><\/strong>, Occitan<\/strong><\/a> Francoproven\u00e7al<\/a><\/strong> and the Venetan<\/strong><\/a>, Trentino<\/strong><\/a>, Lombard<\/strong><\/a> or Piedmontese<\/strong><\/a> dialects are Romance languages. Val Canale Slovenian<\/strong><\/a> and Resian<\/strong><\/a> belong to the Slavic languages<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is AlpiLinK?<\/span><\/span><\/h2>

AlpiLinK is an acronym of Alpine Languages in Contact<\/em>. It is a collaborative project of the Universities of Verona, Trento, Bolzano-Bozen, Turin and Aosta, funded by the Italian Research Ministry in the PRIN framework. Its objectives are the promotion and investigation of the Germanic, Romance and Slavic dialects and minority languages spoken in the Alpine regions of Italy: Piedmont, Aosta Valley, Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino-South Tyrol, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
